Daughters of the Canadian country duo, The Stellas, Lennon, age 14, and Maisy, age 10, grew up around country music.
“We’ve always loved music and our parents obviously, are a duo – it’s always been a musical environment,” says Lennon.
And the world was given a chance to see into that musical environment when the girls’ mother, Marylynne Stella, decided to post a video online of the girls singing a cover of “Call Your Girlfriend," a song by Robyn, with the only instruments being two plastic cups.
The girls were then featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to perform and talk about the video just a few months before ABC’s Nashville began airing in October, 2012. The girls received praise for the various covers they performed on the show. The same can be said for when these two bring their talent to the Opry stage.
