Though she had originally auditioned for the first episode of the show, it wasn’t until later in the series when the role of Layla Grant became available that Aubrey found her way onto the Nashville set.
Although she may be known primarily as an actress, acting isn’t Aubrey’s only talent.
“Both acting and singing are passions of mine, and make up who I am,” she says. “I definitely wouldn’t ever want to sacrifice one for the other. They are different forms of expression and different mediums through which to translate a message, and that whole process in general is what drew me to both.”
Fortunately, her role as Layla Grant allows her to share both skills.
“I am so thrilled and thankful to be getting to pursue them both in one job! I started acting and singing from a young age, starting out in musical theater when I was about five. I began classical vocal training when I was ten, and continued to perform theatrically as I also grew into the film and television world.”
Aubrey made her Grand Ole Opry debut February 8, 2014.
