Pick out a hoodie you wouldn’t mind cutting up. We recommend one with a kangaroo pouch, so you’ll have an easy guide for where you snip and won’t risk losing any part of that awesome screen-printed graphic. Our favorite picks in the Opry Shop are the Outlaw Country Flag Hoodie and the Grand Ole Opry Southern Bling Hoodie.
Lay and smooth out your sweatshirt on a flat surface. You’ll want to cut right along the top of the kangaroo pouch, using the stitching as your guide. No need for a marker or pen, just an extra-sharp pair of scissors. Slowly cut in a straight line from one end of the hoodie to the other.
Once you’ve cut off the bottom portion of the sweatshirt, run back through with your scissors to clean up any jagged edges you might have. It doesn’t have to be perfect — sometimes being rough around the edges just means you’re part of the band.
Go ahead, put it on, and roll up those sleeves! Dress up your cut-off hoodie with a pair of black leather pants, or wear it alongside jean shorts when running weekend errands. Tag us in your outfit photo and use the hashtag #OpryLook to get style inspiration from fans like you.
