Kane Brown & Katelyn Brown – “Thank God”
This 2022 chart-topping platinum hit is a heartfelt duet with a simple and powerful message. Country artist Kane Brown and contemporary R&B artist Katelyn Brown who met in 2016 and married in 2018 express their gratitude to one another and to God for their love and relationship. The song reached number one on the Country Airplay chart, becoming the second country duet from a married couple to do so.
Tim McGraw & Faith Hill – “It’s Your Love”
This 1997 multi-award-winning platinum hit was the first duet by a married couple to top the country charts, a title that would be held for nearly 26 years. A masterclass of country songwriting, this hit came after their on-tour proposal and eventual wedding in 1996. The song shares a vision of a love that conquered all obstacles and withstands the test of time.
Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani – “Happy Anywhere”
These two coaches from The Voice released this upbeat 2020 platinum country duet which captures the joy of being content anywhere you go in life, so long as you have the person you love by your side. The song, recorded by country artist Blake Shelton and featuring guest vocals from his wife’s artist Gwen Stefani, was the lead single of Blake’s twelfth studio album Body Language. The couple will celebrate their 5-year wedding anniversary this summer.
Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood – “In Another’s Eyes”
“In Another’s Eyes” which released in 1997 comes from two of country’s most iconic and beloved voices a decade after their first meeting as aspiring artists in Nashville. The Grammy-winning song which won best country collaboration in 1998 offers a nuanced look at romantic connections and perspectives. The heartful duet is also a strong foreshadowing of the couple’s future as they would officially tie the knot in 2005.
Clint Black & Lisa Hartman Black – “When I Said I Do”
A certified gold hit from real-life spouses Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black, this iconic duo’s duet echoes the ultimate vow of lifelong commitment. The couple who married in 1991 released this song eight years later in 1999 as the first single from Black’s album D’lectrified. “When I Said I Do” was Clint Black’s thirteenth and final number one single on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and the first for Lisa Hartman Black.
George Jones & Tammy Wynette – “Golden Ring”
“Golden Ring” has a unique narrative arc, following the journey of a wedding ring from a pawn shop, to a wedding chapel, and finally its return to a pawn shop. This duet stands out for its release in 1976 over a year after the couple’s divorce in 1975. The song would also go on to be ranked number 63 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 200 Greatest Country Songs of All Time.
