Since being born and raised in the South, even if Zane wanted to change up his music, it would always come out to be a country song. That’s just how he is. “Everything I wrote just sounded country because I was telling stories that I could relate to; that other people relate to,” he said. “I believe that’s what makes a great country song.” Zane has songs from emotional and influential sides, to kickin’ back, relaxing, and drinking a beer on a Saturday afternoon kind of songs.
While trying to figure out a way for himself to support his family financially, he enrolled in a seminar to learn how to make money through revamping neighborhoods and selling the houses. That was exactly what he wanted to do, or at least he thought. He just wanted to help people and be passionate about it while doing so. Therefore, he saw potential in this promising job opportunity. However, the only thing that stuck in his mind the whole conference, was one of his songs. “I said, ‘Hey you guys want to hear a song I wrote about chasing your dreams and the difference between who you are now and who you want to be?’ I got out my guitar and sang this song for this group of 30 or 40 people, and when I got done they were like, ‘Why are you here? If you can write and sing like that, you need to go do that!’” So he did. Zane and his family re-started their life in Texas.
“I can honestly say I’m doing what I love,” Zane says. “And I’m where I need to be.”
