Ricochet
Artist Information
Ricochet is an Academy of Country Music Award Winning, Top Vocal Group hailing from Oklahoma. Fresh off their SiriusXM Prime Country Special in September of 2022, Ricochet signed a 3 album deal with Encore Music Group focusing on a combination of prior hits as well as new music. Over their storied career, Ricochet's membership has changed significantly over time. Of the original six members, only the original voice, Heath Wright remains. Others include: Chris Hempfling (vocals, drums), Rick Toops (vocals, keys), Bruce Bennett (vocals, bass) and Larry Hight (vocals, rhythm/lead guitar, steel, and saxophone).
Over the years, Ricochet has widely been known as one of the hardest working bands in Country Music. As such, they have continued to tour across the US and the world being selected to perform on 2 USO Tours taking their music to troops in Japan, Korea, Spain, Turkey, Portugal, Macedonia, Sicily and Germany. Known in part for their strong vocal harmonies, Ricochet was the first country act to sit on the charts with their own rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner”, which is still one of the most requested and played versions to date.
Ricochet's second album, Blink of an Eye, was released in 1997. The lead- off single, "He Left a Lot to Be Desired", was a Top 20 hit followed by What You Leave Behind in 2000; included on it were several tracks from the unreleased What a Ride, most notably their cover of Steve Young's "Seven Bridges Road". Two of the songs that were newly recorded for What You Leave Behind were also released as singles before the band exited Columbia's roster in 2000.
2023 will bring new music from Ricochet as well as bringing their impressive vocal/harmony driven, high energy Live shows to a city near you!
