Opry Debut
Daniel Grindstaff & The Uptown Troubadours
Artist Information
2-time IBMA-nominated banjo extraordinaire Daniel Grindstaff has carved out his own path in Bluegrass and American music. Along the way, he has shared the stage with some of his biggest musical heroes. A native of East Tennessee, he has performed across the United States and Canada with some of the very best in Bluegrass, Acoustic, and Country music. Daniel began his professional music career at the young age of 18, performing with late Bluegrass legends and Grand Ole Opry members Jim and Jesse McReynolds. At the age of 21, Daniel was not only performing with the McReynolds but had also been called upon to take the stage with iconic Opry stars, the Osborne Brothers, best known for their familiar hit and Tennessee state song “Rocky Top.” In the fall of 2006, Daniel began touring with Grammy Award-winning artist, Marty Raybon. Throughout the years, Daniel continued building an impressive career as both a musician and bandleader. His 2024 album, Heroes & Friends, marked a defining moment, earning widespread acclaim from fans, radio, and industry peers alike. The album's highlight single, "Forever Young," featuring Dolly Parton and Paul Brewster, was named song of the week on WSM Radio and reached No. 1 on both the Bluegrass Today and Bluegrass Unlimited charts. The follow-up single, "Finnland," featuring Andy Leftwich, also climbed to the No. 1 spot. Fueled by the success of these chart-topping releases, Heroes & Friends became the No. 1 Bluegrass album on the Bluegrass Unlimited chart in March 2025. Today, Daniel leads Daniel Grindstaff & the Uptown Troubadours, featuring Derek Deakins, Kevin Richardson, and Kent Blanton. Their debut album, released on March 20, 2026, through Bonfire Music Group, has enjoyed tremendous success, with their first three singles—"Angel Dream," "The Death of John Henry" featuring Marty Stuart, and "We See Love"—all reaching No. 1 on the Bluegrass charts. With world-class musicianship, heartfelt performances, and a deep respect for Bluegrass tradition, Daniel Grindstaff & the Uptown Troubadours honor the past while shaping the future of Bluegrass, continuing to establish themselves as one of today's most exciting and dynamic acts in the genre.Upcoming Performances
