Nashville Irish Step Dancers
Artist Information
Appearing at events all across Music City, NISD dancers have performed at the Nashville Predators' half-time show, Fan Fair, Fest De Ville, Summer Lights, AM Nashville, Talk of the Town, Crook and Chase and Primetime Country. They also have had the esteemed privilege of dancing alongside Celtic country music legends such as The Chieftains, Ric Blair and the Celts, and Grand Ole Opry members Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss and Emmylou Harris. In addition, they perform on the Opry stage each year as part of the Opry's annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
Despite all these remarkable achievements, however, the production of Celtic Rhythms on Fire remains the crown jewel of NISD’s history.
Resonating with spectators of all ages and musical tastes, Celtic Rhythms on Fire features innovative Irish interpretations of a myriad of music, from the country-rooted “Cotton-Eyed Joe” to the driving pop song “I Gotta Feeling” to the African-inspired “Waka Waka.”
Celtic Rhythms on Fire is a celebration of the rich, vibrant artistry of Irish culture and, in a larger sense, the fiery spirit of the Irish heritage,” Mary Moran says. “Our show highlights not only traditional pieces such as the jig and treble reel, but also explores more progressive styles of Irish dance and music. The collaboration between the dancers, musicians, and singers results in a lively interchange the whole family can enjoy.”
