The Opry Helps Music City and Its Neighbors Play On!

Join the Opry and Local Charities In Efforts to Help Music City and Neighboring Communities Play On!
Nashville, TN — May 03, 2011

This week marks the one-year anniversary of a flood that temporarily displaced the Opry from its permanent home and devastated the lives of thousands of Middle Tennesseans. The Opry invites its friends and fans to celebrate what has happened in the year following the flood. Music City is stronger than ever. Our city has come together to refurbish and rebuild. Neighbors have helped neighbors as well as people who had before the flood been complete strangers. Lives have been renewed thanks to the unsinkable spirit of Nashville.

In more recent days, we’ve seen the same spirit that flowed through Nashville throughout America. We’ve watched people go to the rescue of our neighbors in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and throughout the Southeast after some of the most destructive and deadly storms in our nation’s history.

In celebration of the resilience of Nashville and the American spirit, the Opry invites you to give to the organizations which are a part of the Opry’s May 3 Play On, Nashville Opry Jam. Information on how you can be a part of each organization’s mission can be found on that organization’s site. Thank you for giving!
