Wanda Jackson, Jack White Set For January 15 Opry at the Ryman Appearance
Jackson to appear at Opry Originals following Opry performance
Nashville, TN — January 06, 2011
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Wanda Jackson and Grammy®-winner Jack White, who produced Jackson's THE PARTY AIN'T OVER album set for a Jan. 25 release, are set to perform at the Grand Ole Opry Sat., Jan. 15. The night will mark the first time the pair has performed together publicly.
The Opry is being staged through January at the historic Ryman Auditorium, where last fall White presented Jackson with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 Americana Music Awards.
Jackson, whose remarkable career began in 1955 and who is credited with being the first woman ever to record a rock and roll song, will follow her Opry performance with an in-store appearance at Opry Originals, just steps from the Ryman on Broadway.
The Grand Ole Opry® is presented by Humana®. To plan an Opry visit, call (800) SEE-OPRY or visit opry.com.
