October Is Opry Month
Celebration Includes Star-Studded Artist Line-Ups, 82nd Birthday Weekend, OPRY STAR Auction, World’s Largest Care Package, and More

Some of country music’s most popular artists and biggest fans will be part of the excitement as the Grand Ole Opry® presented by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® celebrates “Opry Month” with star-studded shows and special events throughout October plus four consecutive October weekends of first-run versions of “Opry Live” on
GAC: Great American Country.
The fun begins Tues. Oct. 2 with the Bill Monroe Bluegrass Celebration featuring 2007 IBMA Entertainer of the Year nominees The Del McCoury Band, The Grascals, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, and Rhonda Vincent & the Rage. The show will emanate from the stage where bluegrass was born and the Opry’s most famous former home, the historic Ryman Auditorium.
On Oct. 19 and 20, the Opry will welcome some of country music’s brightest stars to the Opry House in celebration of the Opry’s 82nd Birthday. The Opry’s Birthday Bash will include two star-packed Signature Shows both Friday and Saturday nights, Oct. 19 (7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.) and 20 (6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.). Performers scheduled to appear during the weekend include Ronnie Milsap, Lorrie Morgan, Travis Tritt, Steve Wariner, Carrie Underwood, and many others. Opry member Milsap will add to the party with an Opry Birthday Bash Concert Sat., Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. In addition, fans can enjoy a full day of fun on Oct. 20, as the Opry Plaza will be overflowing with birthday activities including: backstage tours, children’s activities, picnic in the Plaza, Opry Pie Auction benefiting the Opry Trust Fund, an Opry member Q&A Session in the Acuff Theatre, and free music in front of the Opry House. The Opry will also make its debut on XM Satellite Radio as it celebrates Oct. 20.
Other performers scheduled for weekend shows throughout the month include Charlie Daniels Band, Little Jimmy Dickens, Vince Gill, Lee Greenwood, Steve Holy, Jack Ingram, Patty Loveless, Tanya Tucker, and more. The Tuesday Night Opry also rolls on throughout October with scheduled performances by Jason Aldean, Keith Anderson, Terri Clark, Emerson Drive, Ricky Skaggs, and Carrie Underwood.
Throughout Opry Month the Opry, along with Lynnco Custom Cycles, will be auctioning a custom-made motorcycle, the “OPRY STAR,” on opry.com. Monies raised will benefit the Opry Trust Fund, which assists members of the country music community in need and the Lynn Jones Foundation, which helps youth organizations.
Also throughout the month, fans and artists alike visiting the Opry House will be invited to write cards and letters to America’s troops overseas to be collected and sent with boxes full of other items after Opry Month to more than 1,000 military personnel as the “World’s Largest Care Package.”
