Southwest Airlines Unveils "Grand Ole Opry Gate"
Nashville, TN — October 19, 2006
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 18, 2006) Today Southwest Airlines unveiled a permanent “Grand Ole Opry Gate” at the Nashville International Airport during a celebration honoring the Opry’s 81st Birthday. Country music artist Julie Roberts was on hand to lead the attendees in a rendition of “Happy Birthday” to the Opry. Birthday cake and Goo-Goo Clusters were served to Southwest customers after the unveiling. The Opry will continue to celebrate its 81st birthday this weekend with performances by Little Jimmy Dickens, Charley Pride, LeAnn Rimes, Travis Tritt, Trisha Yearwood, and many others. Opry fans may also be a part of the celebration by logging on to opry.com through Oct. 31 to win a pair of tickets to any Southwest destination.
