Report: Taylor Swift to star with Meryl Streep in a movie
So Taylor Swift goes to the Toronto Film Festival this year, and she got a lot more than some free popcorn.
Taylor was offered a supporting role in the next major Meryl Streep movie, called The Giver, according to the New York Post.
While in Toronto, movie bigwig Harvey Weinstein offered the role to Taylor and introduced her to one of the co-stars, Aussie actor Brenton Thwaites, and Taylor and Brenton talked for hours, the Post reported.
The Giver is a big brain movie adapted from the novel of the same name about a boy who grows up in a Utopian society, and he’s assigned to be Receiver of Memory. Not exactly rainbows and unicorns, so this could be an interesting gig for Taylor.
Other co-stars: Jeff Bridges, Katie Holmes and Alexander Skarsgard. Filming begins in October in Cape Town, South Africa, and The Giver is set to be released in August next year.
This wouldn’t be Taylor’s first appearance on the big screen. Ya might remember she was in a movie called Valentine’s Day with one of her exes, Taylor Lautner.
George Strait sells out L.A. arena in nine minutes
George Strait can still rope ‘em into his shows, I tell ya what, by gum. I mean, he sold out his upcoming Feb. 8 show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles so fast that I don’t even know how it’s possible.
But all 17,178 tickets were gone in nine minutes. (Seriously, how does that happen? Can someone explain it to me?)
George is wrapping up his last leg of The Cowboy Rides Away Tour so I imagine the rest of the shows will go fast as well.
