Keith Urban “looks set to return” to American Idol
OK, so Keith Urban himself hasn’t said anything, and it’s only one report – but that report comes from usually reliable The Hollywood Reporter.
Keith, the report says, “looks set to return” for the 2014 season of American Idol.
If he does, Keith returns to the first season without original judge Randy Jackson. Randy and pop stars Nicki Minaj and her nemesis Mariah Carey have all said they’re not coming back next year.
Other names being floated for the new panel: Jennifer Lopez, Idol alum Jennifer Hudson and Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas. But the story says J-Lo won’t come back unless she makes more money than Mariah did.
Picking the judges panel might make for a TV show more interesting than Idol itself….
Dierks’ dog Jake takes his first flight to be on The View
Did you catch Dierks Bentley on The View Friday (July 26)?
Dierks’ wildly popular four-legged sidekick Jake co-hosted with him, for part of the show, at least.
And Jake took his first flight to be on the show.
“He’s been on tour buses and pickup trucks his whole life, but this was his first time actually being on a plane going to New York City,” Dierks said.
And no under-the-plane crate for Jake.
“So, one of our favorite airlines was nice enough to get him a seat on the plane, and he had his own water,” Dierks said. “Even had to go through the pat-down process just like all of us.”
Uh huh. I think the TSA agent just wanted to pet Jake.
Garth Brooks is now a granddaddy!
Garth Brooks now has his first grandchild as his middle daughter, August, 19, had a baby girl with her boyfriend, Chance Michael Russell.
The baby’s name: Karalynn.
Garth issued a statement of gratitude – and then he requested reporters to leave them all alone.
“Our family would first like to thank everyone for their warm wishes and sweet celebration of Baby K’s arrival,” the statement said.
“Our children’s lives have always been extremely private and they have been endlessly encouraged to be their own people. We have always wanted them to be individuals and NOT be known as ‘someone’s daughters.’ I have been amazed and grateful how the press has always respected this. I now ask that respect to please continue as this young family begins the greatest days of their lives.”
