That Toby Keith/Garth Brooks tornado relief show sells out in two hours
It’s Toby Keith and Garth Brooks on one show. Oh yeah, and Willie Nelson, Ronnie Dunn, Trisha Yearwood, rocker Sammy Hagar and a bunch of other folks who will rock the stadium in Norman, Okla., July 6.
Tix were only $25, and proceeds help folks who were hit by the recent Oklahoma tornadoes.
And this just in! The sold-out crowd will also get to enjoy a special performance by Carrie Underwood from the Grand Ole Opry.
All that combined means a sell out in about two hours on Friday (June 21).
Anyone else hoping this country music extravaganza will be on TV like Blake Shelton’s Oklahoma fundraiser was?
By the way, fans who still want to support the cause can text the keyword REBUILD to 52000.
Alan Jackson sends autographed presents to 100-year-old fan
It’s time for a good time.
Barbara Bowden of Maine turned 100 years old last week (June 18) – and she did it with an Alan Jackson autographed T-shirt draped across her.
Barbara’s daughter and her nursing home threw her a centurion birthday bash, and Alan sent along some presents. Ya gotta check out this picture from the Bangor (Maine) Daily News.
Turns out the woman has long loved Alan Jackson, so her daughter, Cheryl Sedgwick, contacted Alan’s management company.
In addition to the T-shirt and hat, Alan sent along a letter and some autographed CDs.
Happy birthday indeed!
Reba could be at her stepson’s wedding in a 200-year-old dress
OK, so you know Reba’s stepson, Brandon Blackstock, is marrying one of Reba’s good friends, pop singer Kelly Clarkson.
What will Reba wear?
No dress picked out yet, she tells Country Weekly magazine.
But, Reba adds:
“Kelly is a huge fan of Jane Austen so I may surprise her and come with a period piece.”
Ooooo, costume party!
