Carrie Underwood’s husband exceeds expectations (as in 56 in a 45)
Carrie Underwood rocked her part of the stadium show Sunday (June 9) at the rain-shortened final night of CMA Music Fest in Nashville.
“At least we all got to play a little,” Carrie tweeted. “I still had fun! Great crowd!”
But it wasn’t all fun for Carrie. Concert organizers saw the storm approaching Nashville, so they asked all the artists to shorten their sets. And lots of Jake Owen’s fans were upset that he only got to play one song, and some blamed Carrie for that.
An online, false rumor got started that Jake was only allowed to play one song because Carrie had insisted on it to make more room for her set.
Even Jake shot that one down.
“It wasn’t @carrieunderwood fault I only played one song. She rocks. ❤ Her,” Jake tweeted. “We all did what we were supposed to.”
Still, the controversy upset Carrie.
“Why do people just make up stuff sometimes? Does it make them feel better?” Carrie tweeted. “Mama taught me that’s called a lie…I also call it a bummer…”
Another bummer: Carrie and her hockey player hubby, Mike Fisher, who grew up in Canada, got pulled over for speeding on the way home. But Carrie had a sense of humor about it.
“Ok…so, Mr. ‘I’m gonna start a driving school in Nashville’ just got us pulled over for going 56 in a 45. Just sayin…,” Carrie tweeted.
What’s not a bummer, you ask? Carrie also announced over the weekend she’ll be playing during two Opry shows each night July 5 & 6.
Looks like the Darius Rucker tour is ducky, just ducky
And the pranks are already starting on the new Darius Rucker tour this summer.
Ya might recall that Darius loves him some Duck Dynasty reality TV and even had the cast in his video for “Wagon Wheel.”
The two found some long fake Duck Dynasty beards (borrowed from ZZ Top fans?) and slapped ‘em on and took a picture. And Rodney posted that pic on Facebook.
As one fan posted, Jana is gorgeous, even with a beard.
Has Blake shifted NBC’s “The Voice” toward country music? Dang right!
Blake Shelton’s gonna have some wicked jet lag – After a busy CMA Music Fest appearance in Nashville, Blake flew back to L.A. for Monday night’s (June 10) live episode of NBC’s The Voice.
Before he left Nashville, reporters asked Blake if The Voice has shifted toward country music.
“Well, it sure seems like that, especially with the other coaches last week having all their artists do country songs, it’s kind of turned into the country version of The Voice,” Blake said.
“And I read a few articles about people saying the whole format has kind of shifted country, and my answer to that is, ‘You’re damn right.’”
Craig Morgan to the Rescue
Craig Morgan and his crew witnessed two semi-trucks collide with a tanker on the way back from Texas on the morning of Sunday, June 9. The accident happened on Interstate 40 near Craig’s hometown of Dickson, TN.
Craig and two crew members, Jerry Hines and Joey Greer, jumped into action, helping the drivers escape and extinguishing fires.
It looks like Craig’s EMT and military training has really made a difference in his life and the lives he has helped save.
It’s safe to say our “Hometown Hero” has done it again. Back in 2011, he rescued two children from a burning home in his hometown of Dickson.
