Music To My Ears
The 14-time Grammy award winning Ricky Skaggs has once again proven that he is the reigning king of bluegrass. Music To My Ears is already receiving rave reviews and has something that will appeal to everyone.
This album has an eclectic mix of country, bluegrass and gospel sounds. Barry Gibb (of the Bee Gee’s) teams up with Ricky on the deeply moving “Soldier’s Son.” This is not the first time this duo has collaborated. Barry joined Ricky on the Opry stage on July 27 of this year during his Opry debut. (Click here to see videos from that night.) “What You Are Waiting For” was co-written by GRAMMY winning songwriter/producer Gordon Kennedy and has modern country appeal. A new Christian bluegrass tune, “Music To My Ears,” showcases joyful praise. “You Can’t Hurt Ham” was inspired by the infamous saying of Mr. Bill Monroe and features a traditional bluegrass sound.
Ricky says, “This album is ‘Music to my Ears’ and I hope to yours, as well! We’ve flavored it with all of my favorite sounds and I’m excited to team up with some of the best musicians in the business to create this new record.”
As part of the Grand Ole Opry’s 87th Birthday celebration Ricky will be signing copies of his new album at The Opry Shop on October 6. Click here for the full birthday schedule

A Man Of Good Fortune
Billy Dean is adding to his long list of brilliant music with the release of his new album, A Man Of Good Fortune. Over the course of Dean’s twenty year career, he has had thirteen top ten Billboard country singles, including five #1 hits: “I Miss Billy The Kid,” “Somewhere In My Broken Heart,” “If There Hadn’t Been You,” “You Don’t Count The Cost” and “It’s What I Do.”
After the 2009 release of The One Behind The Wheel, Dean took time off from the recording studio to tour more and develop his own publishing and production company. This studio break also gave Dean time to co-write seven of the ten songs for his new album.
“Music has deeply enriched my life,” says Dean. “My fans have waited patiently for this new release because they know this one is for them. It’s because of my fans and their support that I’ve spent most of my life on a musical journey and that’s why I truly feel like ‘A Man Of Good Fortune.’”
