Taylor’s new romance gets high-powered support

Taylor Swift’s new romance has a little something for every generation.

Taylor is now linked with 18-year-old Conor Kennedy, nephew of late President John F. Kennedy.

Conor’s grandmother apparently approves. She said recently, “We should be so lucky” when asked if Taylor might join the family.

And now, Conor’s half-sister, actress Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy, tells the New York Daily News that the Taylor-Conor relationship is “very real.”

The actress also says she gets a kick outta the country superstar. (Sorry, couldn’t help myself.)

“I love her; she’s great,” Kick said of the Tay Tay.

Kip Moore: There’s somethin’ ‘bout a surfboard

Country singer Kip Moore is super in touch with his country roots, right? I mean, the guy’s from a small town in Georgia, and he had a huge hit with “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck.”

He’s from the country, and he likes it that way!! Or is that another country singer? Eh, not important.

Here’s an unusual twist in the normal dirt-road path that most country boys take to stardom: Kip Moore found songwriter’s solitude in Hawaii. Yup, he took off for tropical paradise before seeking fame and fortune in Nashville.

But Kip was hardly living high on the luau hog.

“I lived in a hut that was probably 5-by-11-foot concrete slab with a little screen around it,” he recently told reporters.

“Had a little bathroom connected to it and that’s all I needed.”

Wow. Wonder what he did there.

“I would hitchhike to the beach every day, and I’d surf and then I’d backpack all over the island and I might be gone for five or six days, and then I’d come back to that hut. I’d have my sleeping bag and that was it.”

Hmmm. Somethin’ ‘bout a surfboard.

Kip will be changing that line back to “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck” on Noteworthy at the Opry next week. This all-new episode featuring Kip as well as Luke Bryan, Eric Church, and Easton Corbin, premiers August 18 only on GAC – Great American Country. Click here for full tune-in details.

Opry members Brad and Carrie to host CMAs again

When ya find a good thing, ya gotta stick with it, right?

Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are back – for year No. 5 – as hosts of the Country Music Association Awards show. This year, that happens Nov. 1.

The CMAs announced it the old-fashioned way – they put up a pic of the two on Facebook and Twitter.

“I feel like we’re the bus drivers,” Carrie told CountryWeekly.com before last year’s show.

“The three-hour ride goes a lot faster when we’re at the front. We’re the ones keeping it moving and there’s always something to do.”

“The easiest way to enjoy the show is to host it,” Brad said.

But even before the awards, Carrie will hit Bridgestone for her BLOWN AWAY TOUR on September 23 – want to be there, meet her, fly to Nashville, and more? Click here to enter.

Until then, here’s Carrie with her latest single, “Blown Away.”
