After his brother’s death, Barry Gibb has powerful Opry debut

Waves of love and sympathy poured over the stage as Barry Gibb from the BeeGees made his Grand Ole Opry debut Friday night (July 27).

Just two months ago, his brother Robin died, and their brother Maurice passed away before that.

When a fan shouted out sympathy, Barry replied with a soft smile, “They’re all here.”

Barry also told the crowd that time spent with bluegrass great Ricky Skaggs – who played the Opry with Barry – was healing.

“This man has been musical therapy for me,” Barry said. “You all, thank you so much. You’ve been so kind to me.”

Still, Barry said his 93-year-old mother was carrying a heavy burden.

“She doesn’t know what she’s done wrong,” he said, shortly before launching into a beautiful rendition of BeeGees hit “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.”

Miranda Lambert says she just needed a little rest

Miranda Lambert is back and better than ever after she postponed a few shows because of some vocal stress.

“I’m way better,” she tells CountryWeekly.com. “I just needed a little rest. I’ve been kinda goin’ 90 to nothin’ and it caught up with me.”

And speaking of going 90, Miranda’s new video for “Fastest Girl in Town” – starring race car driver Danica Patrick – is out! Watch it below.

“It’s amazing,” she says. “The whole thing is kinda like a mini-action movie.”
