Brits think Carrie does bloody good job at first UK show

Carrie Underwood’s not the first big-time country act to play England – Lady Antebellum is among several acts who have crossed the pond – but Thursday (June 21) was Carrie’s first show there.

And things went smashingly well, as far as we can tell from press coverage.

Carrie even felt comfortable enough to cover a song from popular British band, “Fix You” by Coldplay.

And even that went over well.

The London Evening Standard reviewer wrote, “Underwood’s spine-tingling version of Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’ showed she understood the song is both a tender comfort blanket and a gung-ho rock symphony.”

That same reviewer gave Carrie four out of five stars. “What a good-natured triumph it was for the 21st-century Shania Twain,” he wrote. “She was absorbingly watchable and a fabulous singer.”

Dierks takes Little Big Town’s pontoon out for a spin

Dierks Bentley decided to have a lake day this past weekend, so he went to Nashville’s popular Percy Priest Lake.

And there it was – the actual pontoon boat that Little Big Town used on the actual lake Little Big Town used to make the video for the group’s latest single, “Pontoon.”

How could a guy resist? Dierks had to add just one more element to make it the perfect LBT tribute ride.

Mmmmmm. . . . Mmmotorboatin’. . . .

Keith promises new music and new tours to his fans

You know how they say that when it’s summer here, it’s winter in Australia, and vice versa?

Keith Urban tells fans it’s chilly in Sydney when he delivered a video message Friday (June 22) promising to deliver new music and new tours soon.

In fact, Keith – who just finished the Aussie version of The Voice in his native country – says he’ll be back in the studio in July or August to record.

“I’m chomping at the bit to get back into writing and recording mode,” Keith said, with the Sydney Harbor behind him.

“We’ve done bits and pieces of it throughout this year as you guys know. But I’m really anxious to get back into the actual studio and really start working on an album. I’ve got a bunch of songs and I’m really excited about getting in and recording,” he said.

Keith also says he hopes there will be an announcement about an Australia tour soon, adding that there will be a U.S. tour next year.

And when that tour launches, it’ll be a g’day, mates.

Here’s the announcement:
