Opry.com’s Guide To What’s New In Country.
The Given
With nine #1 hits on the Texas Country Charts, Wade Bowen is ready to take the rest of the country by storm with his first major label album release. With five studio albums under his belt and extensive touring experience, Wade is ready for his newest album to slingshot him into the next chapter in his career.
The Given was released earlier this week and Wade wrote or co-wrote every track on the album. The ten tracks come from a push for new music by his fans.
“They’re letting us know that they are very anxious to hear the new stuff,” the singer told Billboard.com. “Of course, with ‘Saturday Night’ [Bowen’s most recent single] doing so well in that market, they’ve let us know that they are excited – and they have let us know that they are ready.”
Wade is an artist with a true and deep appreciation for his loyal fans. “The album is called The Given because I feel like all of these amazing opportunities have been given to me by my fans,” Wade explains. ”They are the reason I get to live my dream every night and they’ve been patiently waiting almost three years now for new music. So, I’m excited to be able to say ‘here it comes and there’s more on the way!’”
One highlight of the album is a Townes Van Zandt cover of “To Live Is To Fly” featuring guest vocals by Guy Clark. Wade describes his experience working with one of his heroes as “one of those memories that I will have forever”. The album is available at all digital music retailers and in select brick and mortar stores. Fans can also gain full-access to the recording process and check out work tapes of several new tracks on wadebowen.com.

Suited Up and Ready
This GRAMMY-winning group surprised fans via Facebook announcing their five-song EP release titled Suited Up and Ready, available now. Yes, it has been seven years since new music has come from The Mavericks, but they are back and better than ever. Their new single “Born To Be Blue” features a familiar sound with a Latin twist. Eddie Perez, who joined the group in 2003, recently told theboot.com about the new single, “When I heard this song I thought, ‘Wow! That’s got everything that’s classic about The Mavericks in it but [also] something new.’”
The Mavericks started out in the early 90’s and initially split up in 2003. In their 14 year run, the band recorded six studio albums in addition to charting 14 singles on the Billboard Country Charts. In October 2011, the band announced plans to reunite and was then signed to Valory Music Co. A new full-length album is in works from these country music veterans and is expected this fall. The Mavericks played their first official show as a newly-reunited group in April and you can catch them at L.P. Field on the Sunday night of CMA Music Festival.
“Our amazing fans have been asking for new music for almost a decade and we couldn’t be more proud to deliver,” lead singer Raul Malo said. “We poured our hearts and soul into the new music and we think it’s our best work yet.”
