Is that the next Taylor Swift who blew away Sugarland’s crowd?
She’s 11 years old, really talented and keeps taking trips to Nashville to get a country career going. Sound familiar?
Some folks are calling Alana Springsteen, 11, the new Taylor Swift. Others are just calling her a talented girl who owned Sugarland’s stage Thursday (April 26) during her version of “Baby Girl” in Alana’s hometown of Virginia Beach, Va.
Alana worked the entire stage in the performance that was captured on video — and it amazed even her parents.
“As soon as the first verse got done it was like, ‘I got this stage!’,” proud papa David told the local ABC affiliate. “She was walking around, flipping her hair, and I was like, ‘what is going on?’,” he said.
Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles also was blown away.
“My face hurts, like wedding face, from smiling the whole time,” Jennifer told the crowd.
“The Voice” contestant RaeLynn sings with hero Miranda on stage
Maybe she didn’t win NBC’s The Voice. But a Texas teen did have her country dreams come true.
RaeLynn, 17, breathlessly told her TV coach Blake Shelton up front that his wife, Miranda Lambert, is one of her favorites.
Only weeks later, RaeLynn shrieked and squealed and generally went bonkers when she met Miranda and found out that Miranda would be one of her mentors too.
The Miranda-RaeLynn relationship peaked Saturday night (April 28) when Miranda called her little shadow on stage at a California concert. Miranda even called RaeLynn “my little favorite.”
The two sang the Maroon 5 song “Wake Up Call,” which RaeLynn sang on The Voice.
How excited is RaeLynn? Well, I’ll answer that with another question: Have you see RaeLynn’s new Twitter profile pic?
Carrie Underwood joins an elementary school chorus in N.Y.
Well, OK, it was one performance only – but what a performance.
Carrie Underwood is plugging away on plugging her new album, Blown Away, which is out Tuesday (May 1). And as part of that effort, she plugged into the most famous fifth-grade chorus in the world, that from PS (public school) 22 in Staten Island, N.Y.
The PS 22 chorus has gotten international attention for its cover songs, and the chorus even ended up on the Oscars one year.
Carrie stopped by to sing “Good Girl” with the kids, and it is AWESOME! You don’t love yourself if you don’t check out the video.
“I feel like I’m a part of the choir now,” Carrie told the kids afterward.
“I would like to thank all of you guys for having me here and singing my songs and making them sound better than I ever could. It just made my heart happy to be here, and I would have loved to have been part of your choir way back when.”
