Lady A’s entrance in San Jose is American Funny
If only there was a celebrity version of America’s Funniest Videos. . . .
Lady Antebellum’s big entrance for the show Friday (March 23) in San Jose, Calif., wasn’t so big.
The trio usually rides a platform that comes up from under the stage to the start the show – but that platform got stuck about halfway up.
Charles Kelley, after yelling “the hell with this,” made what one reviewer called “an awkward climb” out of the pit and onto the stage.
Charles, Dave Haywood and Hillary Scott did have some fun with the mishap throughout the show.
“I think that was the most professional entrance I’ve ever seen,” Charles said.
Hillary told the crowd: “I have to note that I crawled out of that hole wearing leather pants.”
Does Carrie “Idol”-ize one of this season’s contestants?
Can you believe Carrie Underwood still catches most episodes of American Idol seven years after she won that show?
Carrie (on the Opry Tuesday night) is something of a role model to one of this season’s contestants, 18-year-old Hollie Cavanagh, who said from the start that she wants to meet Carrie one day.
Well, the two haven’t met yet – but Carrie did send Hollie a gift and a sweet note, according to an exchange between the two on Twitter this past weekend.
Ronnie Dunn steps up to fill in for old partner Kix
What a way to re-start a solo career.
After decades as half of Brooks & Dunn, Kix Brooks has delivered his first solo song to radio (“New to This Town”) in 23 years.
But vocal problems stopped him from pushing the single in person.
“Oh no!! banged up vocal chords- two weeks down!” Kix tweeted Thursday (March 22). “So sorry to fans in Jacksonville and Vegas – we’ll be back!! Doc asked if I ever got excited or yelled haha – doesn’t know me very well huh?”
Guess who stepped in for Kix in Jacksonville. That’s right, his ol’ partner Ronnie Dunn, who re-launched his own solo career last year.
