Carrie Underwood’s How Great Thou Art Performance Goes Viral

Even if you missed the ACM Girl’s Night Out: Superstar Women of Country show that aired on CBS last weekend, you’ve probably heard the buzz around Carrie Underwood‘s performance of “How Great Thou Art” with Vince Gill. I can’t watch and or hear this too many times!! Tears and chills at the same time. Thank you two so very much. I heard Carrie do this live, but this time is unforgetable!!

  6. Why is everybody so surprised that Carrie’s performance is so popular. She has one of the strongest vocals of anybody and when she went high and stay up there. It like everybody was shocked. That isn’t first time she went that high and she usually does an outstanding job.

The greatest country singer today. God sent this angel to us and it all shows through her voice. Thank god for Opry because they got it right by having Carrie become a member. She has brought so many of us to country music and with this performance has brought us closer to God. To bad the CMAS AND ACM awards and her own record company can’t see who is the real FVOY AND ETOY. hER REAL FANS DO AND WILL ALWAYS BACK HER. Thankyou Carrie for the best performance of your life.

Like everyone, I too watched Carrie and Vince on Girls Night Out. What an inspirational moment that was! Obviously Carrie was just as moved from singing the song as we all were listening to it. I hope it reinforced to everyone, yes even the non believers, just how great our God is and the power and love he gives to us. I will be at the Opry June 7th to see Carrie and I hope and pray she will treat us to yet another moment of true country music. Carrie, we all love you!

  12. KEVIN(MILO) says:

Yes Carrie is great, but the way vince made that guitar sing was phenomanal to say the least. the tune, pitch, everything was perfect. Not many artist would be able to play it so true and perfect. Been a fan of vince since Pure Prarie League and loved it when he took conye West down a notch by asking him If he”d ever been given an award by a beatle!!!!!

  13. Annette says:

WOW!!! I listen to this song from Carrie and I get the chills….

  14. Teresa says:

I have always been one of Carrie’s biggest fans and have a lot of respect for her as well. I have always respected Vince Gill and he has such a pleasant, unique voice. I loved the duet between Carrie and Vince of “How Great Thou Art”, NOBODY could even come close to singing it as well as Carrie did except maybe Martina McBride or Sara Evans. Don’t get me wrong, there are so many talented Female Vocalists and I am a fan of many. Carrie just has a Vocal Range that is “out of this world.” I am of fan of MANY Female and Male Country (and some Pop/Rock) Vocalists!! Anyway, I love the song “How Great Thou Art”; when Carrie sang I had chills, goosebumps and tears came to my eyes!! Not only did Carrie sing the song well, she sang the song with her heart, there is no question that she meant those words that she sang!!! I love that song, among others and I love to sing but I can’t hold a candle next to Carrie, Martina, Sara, Reba, Miranda……, etc. I also want to say CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE LADIES THAT WERE HONORED AT “GIRLS NIGHT OUT!!”

  15. Carrie does an AWESOME job on this song! My best friend and I have been singing gospel music for almost 38 years and wish we could sing like she does. We are both blind, but travel all over the USA singing in churches that call us. Our hearts desire is to one day meet Carrie and talk to her.

  16. Michelle Canady says:

I just wanted to let everyone know how truly amazing her voice is. My grandmother just turned 100 years old on Januray 28, 2012. I played this song for her last Christmas and it was the first time she has smiled in months. When the good Lord finally calls her home, we will play this at her funeral. Thank you so much for such an inspiring version of that song.

    Sincerely,

    Michelle Canady
