“I think growing up country is as much an attitude as geographical location,” Charlie says. “I think there is a country frame of mind, because I grew up in rural and small town cities. I always had that little bit of country. Even if I went into town, I always took that with me. That is where my heart always was.”

“I was way deep into all that music on the ’80s, you know pop, rock,” Dierks says. “My childhood was really defined by music. When I moved to Nashville, I carried these kinds of CDs with me. I remember I moved out of this apartment and I just left all of that on the counter. If it wasn’t bluegrass or country music, I didn’t want it.”
