Aaron Tippin

Guest Artist

Aaron Tippin moved up through the ranks, performing in honky tonks in the 1970s.  A win on then TNN's You Can Be a Star talent competition in 1985 paved the way for Tippin's first songwriting contract, prompting him to relocate to Music City in 1986.

A 1990 Nashville night club performance earned Tippin a recording contract with RCA Records.  Industry recognition followed suit with one platinum and five gold records.  He also appeared on the soundtracks of such films as The Beverly Hillbillies (1993) and Fire Down Below (1997).  His continued success as a songwriter produced hits for Garth Brooks, Charley Pride, and Kenny Chesney.

Tippin had a change of address in 1998 when he signed with Lyric Street Records.  His new home produced the back-to-back hits "For You I Will" and "I'm Leaving."

Aside from his successful country music career, Tippin is a licensed commercial pilot as well as an avid hunter and outdoorsman, a hobby he shares with his wife and sons.

Tippin, the businessman, launched NIPPIT Records (a clever play on his last name spelled backwards) after parting company with Lyric Street in 2004.  Tippin released Now & Then, showcasing a blend of new songs alongside Tippin's greatest hits. In 2009, he released a collection of songs that is a tribut to America's truck drivers called, Overdrive.
