Shooter Jennings

Guest Artist

Shooter (who officially shares his legendary father's first name) Jennings, the only child of Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, lived his first few years in a crib on his parents' tour bus.  By age five, he was playing drums.  At home in Nashville between tours, he tried piano lessons, eventually teaching himself.  At 14, he tried guitar, an instrument that has accompanied him on his musical journey.

At age 16, he discovered rock 'n' roll.  Driven by a sound he heard coming together in his head -- something like Lynyrd Skynyrd mutating into Guns N' Roses-Jennings left Nashville for Los Angeles where he formed the band Stargunn, a group that enjoyed much regional success.  Stargunn disbanded in 2003, and Jennings moved to New York City.  He soon returned to the West Coast and the 357s were born.

It took him just six weeks to record his first solo album entitled Put the O Back in Country, which was released on Universal South in 2005.  He enlisted the help of country legend George Jones for guest vocals on the single "4th of July."

Jennings also added an acting credit to his resume when he portrayed his late father in the 2005 movie Walk the Line

In 2006, he issued the studio album Electric Rodeo as well as Live from Irving Plaza. The Wolf followed in 2007.
