Con Hunley has placed over 20 hits on the country charts since 1978 and continues to wow audiences with his unique soulful style. After successful stints with Warner Bros., Capitol and MCA, Hunley currently records exclusively with independent label IMMI Records, releasing new music that has garnered critical acclaim from fans as well as music industry insiders. After signing Hunley in 2004, IMMI Records licensed and re-mastered most of his hits from the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, making the music available on CD format for the first time ever.
Produced by Grammy-winning producer Norro Wilson, Hunley’s 2004 release, Sweet Memories, was selected by CMT.com as one of their “Top 10 Country Albums of 2004.” Hunley teamed with Wilson again for his 2006 album, Shoot From The Heart, featuring contributions from some of Nashville’s finest songwriters including Dean Dillon, Hank Cochran and Kim Williams.
In 2011, Hunley released Lost and Found: The MCA Capitol Years. Co-produced by Hunley and Wilson, Lost and Found is a compilation of songs that Hunley originally recorded in the ‘80s on MCA and Capitol Records, some of which were released as singles but didn’t make it onto an album.
Hunley's latest effort is a new gospel album to be released on May 15, 2012. The first single, an original song by hitmakers Dean Dillon and Tom Douglas titled "Jonas", has a compelling Easter message about crucifixion and resurrection, and will be released to radio on March 19th.
Besides performing and writing music, Hunley enjoys squeezing in a round of golf whenever possible. He participates in celebrity golf tournaments around the country, and for years hosted one of his own in his hometown of Knoxville, TN, which raised over a million dollars for charities benefiting underprivileged children.
But his first love remains the music and performing and recording is more meaningful to him now than ever before. "It's all about the music now," he says, "and I am very fortunate to have another chance to do the thing I truly love." He is quick to add, "I am so blessed."
