Nanci Griffith

A native of Seguin, Texas, Nanci is the daughter of musical parents. She spent her childhood involved with theater, literature and music.
The country scene took her to heart in the mid-'80s. She earned a reputation as a quality songwriter as artists like Kathy Mattea and Suzy Bogguss recorded her songs. She recorded several pop-oriented albums, including Poet in My Window, Once in a Very Blue Moon, Last of the True Believers, and Storms. Last of the True Believers earned her a Grammy® for Best Contemporary Folk Recording. By the mid-'90s, Griffith returned to her folk roots with the album Other Voices, Other Rooms, a tribute to her musical influences. Her albums Flyer, Blue Roses From the Moons, Other Voices, Too (A Trip Back to Bountiful), Dust Bowl Symphony, and Hearts in Mind followed. In 2009, she released The Loving Kind on Rounder Records.
Griffith's single releases include "Love at the Five & Dime" and "From a Distance."
