Josh Gracin
Guest Artist
Josh Gracin first gained national attention on season two of television's American Idol. His fourth-place finish landed him a record deal with Lyric Street Records and a self-titled debut album which was released in 2004.
Born Oct. 18, 1980, in Westland, Mich., Gracin is a former member of the United States Marine Corps, from which he received an honorable discharge in September 2004.
Growing up, he was influenced by pop and rock music as well as country favorites George Strait, Randy Travis and Garth Brooks. In school, he chose a musical path that included choir, orchestra and talent competitions, preparing him well for his American Idol journey.
In a strange twist of fate, one of Gracin's American Idol performances featured the Rascal Flatts' song "I'm Moving On." This began a chain of events that led to Gracin working with the same producer who had helped create the super group's first two albums. After signing with Lyric Street, Gracin and Rascal Flatts were label mates, too.
On the heels of his American Idol success, Gracin released his first single, "I Want to Live," followed by "Nothin' to Lose," his first No. 1. His second album, We Weren't Crazy, bowed in 2008 featuring the title track as the first single from the project. After leaving Lyric Street, Gracin released two subsequent online singles-"Enough" and "She's a Different Kind of Crazy."
