David Ball
Guest Artist
With his smash 1994 debut single "Thinkin' Problem," singer/songwriter David Ball learned that it was a good problem to have for an artist looking to break into country music.
Having played in local bands in Texas and the Carolinas before landing a spot in Walter Hyatt's trio, Uncle Walt's Band, Ball eventually moved to Nashville to pursue a solo career. He first signed a publishing contract and worked as a songwriter. Later, he was signed to RCA Records, but it wasn't until he found a home at Warner Bros. Records that fans would hear a taste of his hard-core traditional country sound. The label led with "Thinkin' Problem" followed by "Look What Followed Me Home" and "When the Thought of You Catches Up with Me." Ball was absent from the charts until 2001 with his hit single "Riding with Private Malone" from the album Amigo. In 2004, he released the album Freewheeler and 2007's Heartaches by the Number.
