By far, our most popular question is "Why is Opry Live not live every week?"
In the fall of 2003, GAC presented the Grand Ole Opry with the opportunity to continue Opry Live on their network as a weekly series. CMT was not offering the opportunity to continue the program as a weekly series, and had we stayed with CMT, you would have only seen Opry Live a few times a year. Our viewers tell us frequently that they want to watch Opry Live each and every week, and we felt it was important to base our decision on that input. Under the Opry's agreement with Great American Country, Opry Live is aired 52 weeks a year, with 6 airings each week. We will present 29 live episodes this year and present encore episodes during the remaining weeks of the year.
Please remember, you can also enjoy the Grand Ole Opry in a variety of ways including wsmonline.com, XM Satellite Radio, America’s Grand Ole Opry Weekend syndicated program available on many country music stations, and of course, 650 WSM.
