Stormy Remarks on Her Summer Getaway, Feuds in Music City, Taylor Swift's Movie Career!
Stormy is happy to report that she is getting ready for a big night out on the town in the Big Apple! The past week or so has rendered Stormy exhilarated and totally consumed by some of the best concerts she’s ever seen.
As you know, the odyssey began July 24 in Virginia Beach with Brad Paisley’s American Saturday Night Tour on a Friday night on the East Coast. Dierks Bentley and Jimmy Wayne, too, well, let’s just say it was a feast for the ears and the eyes. After a few days on the beach with the sand between our toes, we girls packed up. Actually, we didn’t have much to pack. Someone stole our beach umbrellas and our chairs. The audacity! Fortunately, it just made our load lighter as we pointed the car south toward Charlotte for the Rascal Flatts concert on Aug. 1. As special guest Darius Rucker would say, “it’s alright.” Now, as soon as this show was over, there was no time to shop for t-shirts. No, it was time to gas up the car and head back up the coast, destination: Rochester for the Keith Urban show on Aug. 2. Bettie Lou may never be the same. Note to self: the front row may be pushing BL’s boundaries on personal proximity limits. All three shows were fabulous. Photos? Oh, yes, some photos would be great, but we’ve lost the camera. It could be in the car, it may be in Charlotte. If we find it, we’ll share the pics.
Meanwhile, Stormy is trying to stay connected to all that’s happening back in Music City while she and the girls burn up the highways on this summer road trip. Stormy is saddened that some folks are giving Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles a hard time because she is on doctor-ordered bed rest. Stormy is watching Sugarland on TV right now (while she waits for room service to bring a serious cheeseburger to her room). That girl puts a lot into her performances. Stormy often times requires vocal rest after just an average week. Imagine night after night of concerts like that? Don’t be hatin’ on Jennifer!
Speaking of doctors, Dr. Dolly Parton is offering up a chance to be an overnight guest at her Tennessee Mountain Home in East Tennessee. The winner and a guest will spend the night in Dolly’s guest cottage plus invite 10 friends to a Backwoods Barbie-Q at Dolly’s house. The next morning, Dolly will prepare breakfast for the winner and his/her guest. Oh, to have Dolly bring you pancakes! You know the pancakes would be just like Dolly’s voice, light as air. Stormy and her girlfriends are pooling their resources to try and outbid everyone else. Stormy and Bettie Lou simply must see inside that guest cottage. Oh, the winner and guests also get a guided tour of Dolly’s property. Do you think we’ll get a glimpse of her closet? If Stormy thinks about it too much, she hyperventilates.
It’s happening . . . Taylor Swift’s movie career is under way. She’ll appear in The Valentine’s Day with Taylor Lautner, Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Garner, Queen Latifah, Patrick Dempsey, Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Ashton Kutcher, Eric Dane and Emma Roberts. That’s quite a celebrity who’s who, and our little Taylor is one of them. Let’s hope it’s the first of many for Miss Swift.
Stormy can’t write about a valentine without thinking of LeAnn Rimes and Dean Sheremet. People magazine reports that these two may be separated. Oh, my! If Stormy has said it once, she’s said it a thousand times: those Lifetime movies will suck you in if you let ‘em.
Stormy and girls are parked here in New York City to see the sights, waiting for Kenny Chesney to perform in Central Park on Aug. 14 as part of Good Morning America’s summer concert series. Tomorrow, is history day. Battery Park, Ellis Island and Bloomingdales. Yes, Bloomies is part of our history tour; we’re learning the origin of the big brown bag. And searching for that camera. It’s got to be here somewhere. Then again, we’re not sure where we left the rental car; parking in The City is really competitive.
Look for us on Good Morning America! We’ll have signs if we can find the time to make them!
